"chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus) McHenry "
Is there more than one McHenry in Congress? The only one I know is a white republican who is only 30 years old.

At least a few of our guys actually have cajones.

They don't know when to keep their mouths shut and let the Dems do the talking. "Never get in your enemy's way when he is busy destroying himself."

quote:"I don't think it's fair to attack the Capitol Police and I think it's time that we show our support for them," said Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., a sponsor of the measure. Ignoring a police officer's order to stop or hitting one "is never OK," McHenry said of the incident, which has exacerbated partisan tensions in the House.

I wonder how Mckinney felt about the inappropriate touching done by her esteemed democratic president Clinton. Did she defend any of those women?
BTW, I don't get to go backstage at a concert unless I have a pass. Why would a congressman be allowed to usurp security (a concept I find preposterous to begin with, as if none of those angry nutters could go postal) when they don't wear their identifying pin (aka backstage pass)?

Her constituents will come through for her no matter what though they did vote her out temporarily in 2002.
She was voted out in the Dem primary that year because so many Republicans crossed over to vote for her Dem primary opponent, if I remember correctly.

McKinny's reaction is a case study of the race baiter reaction to ANY accusation.
She holds a press conference.
She expresses outrage at her treatment
She declares herself a VICTIM
She says SHE was attacked
Because she was a woman, she says she was inappropriatly felt.
She is surrounded by paid clergy.
This incident is also an underscore of the democrat party indifference to real security measures. If security really mattered in her mind, she would have not treated it so calously.

which has exacerbated partisan tensions in the House. Why would that happen? Are the Democrats in FAVOR of beating police officers, or they just afraid Cynthia will call them racist?

If that biatch is going to whine this much over an "inappropriate touching", That's a buzzword she specifically picked to inflame the situation, IMO. I've never heard police grabbing a suspect being called "inappropirate touching." I always thought that meant something sexual.

Idiots, one and all.
The republicans should keep their mouths shut and let McKinney flush herself. Instead, they're just going to set themselves up to be called supporters of the racist cop. The dems will be able to support McKinney indirectly, instead of directly and looking like the loons they are.

The Republicans have played "Mr. Nice Guy" too often and have been smeared by the Dems every time. It's time the Dems got a dose of their own medicine. How many Democrats have you seen leave office because of attacks by Republicans? How many Republicans have you seen leave office because of attacks by Democrats? John Boehner had to fight alone for years to hold Jim McDermott responsible for his criminal act...the Democrats do not punish their own. Republicans need to grow a backbone and protect their own instead of rolling over and playing dead.

The video tapes of this incident should have been released IMMEDIATELY. The reason there is this growing battle is because they have not been seen. Stupid not to have shown them.. or politically motivated to "hold" them.
