Are you aware that the contractors refuse to hire Americans? Are you aware that Hispanic foreman will only hire other Hispanics? This is exactly what is happening to my friend's son.
He has been turned down left and right in some of these construction jobs, as well as warehouse jobs, because he doesn't speak spanish. Therefore would not be able to communicate with his fellow workers.
He's scrubbing surgery rooms now for $9.32/hour, and wondering just how long that will last.

I can remember about 20 years ago when I worked in hospitals. Many chemicals and disinfectants were dangerous, and were only labeled in English. As a result, many hospitals adopted a position that if you could not read English, you could not work there due to safety concerns.
How things have changed in 20 years.
