Juan Silvino Sanchez, Juan Cogco and Santo DeJesus are among the thousands of Mexicans who came to New Orleans for construction jobs after Hurricane Katrina. We really didnt know where it was, said one man who left Mexico for the work.
Not surprising.
Wait 'til they discover welfare, that's where the real gold is.
Rebuilding the cities Americans refuse to rebuild.
Duh!
I was in NOLA a few weeks ago and drove up to the local exxon to grab some goodies, I hopped out of my truck and was immediatly approached by 3 or 4 'hispanics' asking if I had work...
The illegals are robbing us blind, no kidding, have two friends now robbed, and they are in their homes, one took child to school, returned to find illegal Mexican in house in bedroom taking her personals, another house has been robbed twice, and another car was stolen, so some not here to work, but to rob, we have had enough
They will need new schools, hospitals, dental, homes, buses, welfare,Medicare,SSI,SSD, NO will be a great barrio of drugs and violent gangs in short order
Of course they will also need more cops, jail cells and probation officers too...that speak Spanish of course.
And the US taxpayer will be on the hook for it all.... imo
Just how in the h!ll are they getting up here?
Illegal immigrants are mostly hard working people looking for opportunities and I would not deny them that. They do the jobs Americans WILL NOT do.
I hate amnesty, but this is a situation where, if no Americans are heading down there to work, we'd need a guest worker program to rebuild the area.
Let's face it- part of the illegal immigration problem is our government. But another part is that the American people have gotten too darn lazy.
My favorite rationalization for illegal behavior was given me by my President: "They're coming (breaking our laws on the way, while here and then do it again when sent back) to do the jobs Americans won't do."
In other words, if we weren't a land of prosperity, riddled with assorted Communist tools, we wouldn't have an invasion taking us over.
I wonder which laws I can skirt to make my life easier?
"there must be 10,000 to 20,000 immigrant workers in the region by now, and the number is going to grow."
Should be fairly easy to go in, round them up, and start the deportation process.
I also don't believe we should be paying to rebuild NO. If the people that live there want it rebuilt, they should be rebuilding it. If not, it's sinking anyway. It's foolish to waste money on the place.
If this was their plan from early on, it was marvelously carried out. Bush lifted the hiring rules for illegal aliens, then Harry Reid stepped in and supported the illegal aliens instead of the American citizens. Meanwhile, the media published a series of articles (available at the site above under the 'illegal aliens' tag) highlighting how wonderful it was that New Orleans had new immigrants. It's almost like they were all working together to stick it to American hurricane victims.
My next door neighbor recently had her roof replaced because of Katrina. I was here by myself all day and kept all my doors locked and my burglar alarm on all day while I was home alone.
