I first thought that this may be a reference to a meeting between Saddam and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) so I called both of IAEA offices in New York and Vienna to check if Saddam had any meeting with the IAEA Chairman prior to May 2002, and they indicated to me that they do not recall any such meeting of IAEA chairman and Saddam prior to May 2002.

This is called going the extra mile, or what professional reporters ought to be doing.

Of course, they're too busy reading press releases.

I was wondering where you'd been the last day or so jveritas.

I passed your blog address on to an Iraqi-American I sort of know. Who knows?

Thanks again!

Hi Coop!

Thank you. I just do not want to post anything that will be easily debunked. Saddam who was prohibited from having anything to do with nuclear whether it is for war or for peace has a Chairman of Nuclear Energy and an elite team of nuclear scientists! Of course there is no more important asset in a nuclear program than the people who know how to build the nuclear bomb and Saddam had them, waiting for the opportune moment to build up his nuclear capabilities.
