In the same way the Democratic Party positions itself as the Mommy Party to seduce female voters, CBS may within weeks begin repositioning itself as the Mommy Network to attract female viewers.
Katie Couric, who for 15 years has been the morning star of NBCs Today Show, has according to TelevisionWeek Magazine agreed in principle to accept a longstanding CBS offer to become the first solo female anchor of a major network evening newscast. In late 2004, with controversial Democrat-partisan CBS anchor Dan Rather on his careers last legs following exposure of his use of fake documents in a news story calculated to undermine President George W. Bushs reelection, CBS Chairman Les Moonves was already courting Couric to take Rathers place.

"Some people are very concerned about talk shows, radio talk shows in general, of course. Most of them around the country have a decidedly conservative bent. The rap that some people give them is that they reflect the views of a very vocal minority, the extremists in this country, and don't really reflect the true nature of political debate in the United States. And, as a matter of fact, they tend to be quite divisive and sort of have a bad, a negative impact on the country," -Katie CouricSweet Jesus... what a mind.

It's amazing but over at DU they think that she's a republican!! Of course, they also think the MSM has a strong right-wing agenda. Man, them people are stupid. No wonder they are becoming more and more out-of-touch. They can't even recognize the ones who are on their side. Katie Couric a republican? Sure, so's Helen Thomas.

Wow. CBS actually found a nastier partisan than Dan Rather to replace him. Who'd a thunk it?

Couric conducted a friendly interview with actress Whoopi Goldberg, during which the topic came to Goldberg's views on abortion. While opining about the importance of protecting women's "freedom of choice," Goldberg alluded to an occasion when she and Couric had once "marched together" in an abortion-rights demonstration. At that point, Couric interrupted, giggling: "Nooo. I'm not allowed to do that" [a reference to the purported neutrality that journalists are expected to maintain on social issues and news events]. Goldberg replied humorously, "Oh no, that's right. We have not marched together. It was somebody who looked like you. Uh, I forget where I am sometimes."
Liar.

Katie Couric is the perfect fit for a newtwork that condones fabricating news to fit their agenda. Ratings wil slide even more as See-BS takes her down with them. The mindless mommies who turned her on in the morning for background noise while they were tending to kids [ON THEIR WAY TO SENDING THEM OFF TO DAY-CARE] and doing other tasks probably don't even bother with evening news. A responsible FCC would mandate NBC to run a disclaimer that states the program is entertainment based (loosley) on the news of the day.
Well put.
She will continue the See-BS-Rather-Slide .
To: johnny7
I will predict right here on FR that she and CBS Snooze will fail miserably after the curious figure out that 30 minutes of entertainment is not real news.
The people who run Viacom are evidently living in a different world than the one I live in.
