It's just a matter of semantics. I'm assuming that the flag was misused(gosh, don't wanna be a drama queen here)by citizens. That is insurrection, especially when coupled by waving another country's flag, and seditious words on posters. They aren't playing games here. They're serious. If you don't want to take it seriously, then that's your funeral.
Now if they aren't citizens, and in fact are not here legally, I'd call it an act of war. I would deal with it as such. Yeah, they're just a bunch of exuberant youths skipping school on a lark....from coast to coast. NOT!
Anyway, this thread is about "misguided"(my ass)clergy aiding and abetting illegals.
