My cat would be a better politician than the current lot.... there's no law against an animal being allowed to hold public office.

...there's no law against an animal being allowed to hold public office...You might have trouble with the minimum age requirements, though. Besides, dog lovers would never vote for a cat, even though cats are clearly superior.
