Tattoos and piercings are ways for an individual to express their personality, but MOST EMPLOYERS ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO DON'T HAVE A DESPERATE NEED TO PUBLICLY DEMONSTRATE SELF MUTILATION.

SELF MUTILATION???? ROFL! I know some elderly veterans who served in WWII, and they have tattoos. Are you suggesting that they were into "self-mutilation"? And what about my pierced ears. Did my father allow me to self-mutilate myself many, many years ago?

Apples and oranges. Those guys' tattoos were discreet or placed squarely on the shoulder where it could be concealed. They didn't exactly resemble the walking maps that kids are now.

And I bet that most of them were bombed on cheap booze when they got those tatoos and woke up the next morning thinking "what the h*ll have I done?"

I didn't think one would lump ear piercing or a simple tattoo as self mutilation. When the tattooing or piercing is to a rather silly degree, then it becomes that, silly and unwarranted.

Screaming Eagles???

I knew a fellow who got a tattoo in Vietnam. It stayed dormant for 30 years, but the hepatitis killed him.
