That's understandable, my ire right now is directed towards those who are condemning anyone with a tat out of hand.
Really now? That's odd considering that I had the design for my two tatoos in my wallet for a year before getting inked so that I could be SURE I wanted them. Both are covered by a short sleeve shirt as well.
Oh really? Well, I have been posted to numerous times by people who refuse to admit that not ALL tattoos or ALL piercings are disgusting or inappropriate. They have implied that those people are not worthy of their business, and are somehow "bad people". I never said, nor implied that ALL tatoos and piercings are just fine 'n dandy. Some are downright gross, and some even depict Satan as if he were the best thing since ham sandwiches were invented. LOL My point has been that not ALL people who HAVE tatoos and/or piercings are not "good" people. There are plenty of people in this world, even a few on FR, that would be shamed by the Godliness, and goodness of some people I know with "tats" and piercings.
What? You're judging people that have Satan tattoos?
Judging a book by its cover are we?
Thank you!!!
The circus? They'd save a bundle on clown makeup.
Can you imagine these two in an old folks home?
Shhhh...they might decide to make a strip-down part of the "employment screening."
Most exceptionally talented and intelligent people are unconcerned about "fitting in." It has always been that way; and it always will be.
Let freedom ring! Capitolism rules!
He is a heavily-tatooed banger wanted for several murders including last month's cold-blooded shooting of a Bernalillo County (Albuquerque) Sheriff's Deputy during a "routine traffic stop".
He'll have lots of time in the days to come to add to his tats and his resume.
Isn't that sad. Sad that some men who could have done more for this world than another, were not used to their potential because of a tatoo. Now if THAT doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does.
I know elderly veterans who are proud of their wilting, aging tatoos, and oh, the stories they tell. I'm sure there are some who eventually regretted their tatoo, but that doesn't make them bad people. Life is full of regrets. If the worst that can happen to you is that you regret a tatoo, then I'd say, "Praise God!" :)
Hi CindyDawg. :) You do not know what is on the inside of the pie, until you are willing to look inside the pie. In dealing with people, and pies, not all fillings are "the same". To assume they are, is an error, IMHO.
Oh spare me! They are just have a different orientation toward who and how they want to "fit in."
Most gifted people are great for talking out their poop chutes, but if you *really* want to find out what they are like, talk to someone who manages them for a living ;o)
Not surprising. Many of the greatest artists, minds, and talents in history were considered "odd" by societal standards.
Notwithstanding some of the photos on these threads (where they manage to find the extreme examples); the idea that one wouldn't hire a girl with a tattoo on her ankle is ridiculous.
Thankfully, said girl would probably be horribly unhappy working for the type of controlling person that would reject her on that basis.
I appreciate that, papertyger. I'm not saying that we should "withhold judgement until the evidence drags you kicking and screaming to a conclusion I don't want you to reach". All I have ever said is that I don't believe that judging folks based on tatoos, piercings, ugly clothes, bad B.O.....whatever.....is a good thing.
I'm not perfect and I have judged others by their outward appearance. I've said that before on this thread. I'm not proud of it, but I admit it, and I try very hard not to paint everyone with the same brush.
That said, I've got a co-worker with ~6 that are visible, and I wonder (sarcastically) why she's still working entry-level jobs?
I'm married to one. They cannot be "managed"...that's the point.
The music industry has been ruined by "management" of artists.
That is so cute. Nitey-nite, Smartass.
See you here in the trenches tomorrow! :)
Please thank Leti for choosing to serve in the military! Yes, I have wondered about those who are condeming tatoos and how they feel about our military. I've asked on this thread, and others, about that, but never once has anyone responded to the WWII vet, a Vietnam vet, or any other veteran's tatoos. Some just can't get past the extreme forms of tatoos and piercings and they love to haul those silly pictures out whenever they want to make their point. LOL Nice to chat with you, chae. :)
