Everyone, these are great symbolic ideas. Certainly no shopping on the designated days of protest to illegals is wonderful but we must also contact the people on the Hill and WH to voice our demands (Illegals aren't the only ones who can make demands). I saw spineless Lindsey Graham talking about deporting peoples' grandmas. Now he knows he could care less about some poor Mexican's grandma but only the cheap labor. Lindsey needs a good talking to. Everyone should write his office and McCain (Who still thinks he going to president after coming up with bill) and any other one of them soft on Deporting Illegals. NEWS FLASH: I heard one of the promoters of these marches that their goal was AMNESTY First, then DEMAND EQUAL WAGES. So much for Bush's cheap labor argument.

They [Mexican protestors] are saying that they are not going to spend any money on May 1 in an effort to paralyze the U.S. economy.

We should all hold back on buying any large ticket items until May first. Go shopping, buy that new lawnmower, new car, stock up on groceries, go out to dinner, add a gun to your collection, etc.

Spend like crazy on things you were going to buy anyway and make sure they're NOT made or assembled in Mexico.

Let's make May 1, 2006 a banner retail sales day for America!

"So much for Bush's cheap labor argument."

This isn't about cheap labor. It is about NAFTA and CAFTA and the goal of combining all of North America into a EU type power house of trade by 2010. It is about connecting Canada, USA and Mexico with infrastructure so borders are diminished and not a barrier of trade. Everything else is secondary. They talk about a "wider perimeter" of border security being Canada and South America with the USA working the coasts. They talk about US providing the education for Mexicans, etc. It's all in a thread that was posted somewhere here on Free Republic. I'm sorry I don't know right now where. But, every one needs to go to the, I hope I get this right, it's the Committee on Foreign Relations . org, if my memory is right. :(

Then read the UN'S Agenda 21 and you'll all understand what we are up against as far as maintaining a sovereign nation.
