Sunday, April 2, 2006 11:58 a.m. EDT John McCain Praises Pro-illegal Protests
Sen. John McCain is praising the recent wave of pro-illegal immigration demonstrations, saying that if the protesters hang tough they will succeed in forcing Congress to liberalize immigration laws.
"If such demonstrations continue, I think we will have a bill for the President to sign soon," the Arizona Republican told a New York City gathering on Friday sponsored by the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform.
"The more debate, the more demonstrations, the more likely we will prevail," McCain added, in quotes picked up by the New York Daily News.
The Irish group backs the McCain-Kennedy bill that would allow illegal aliens already in the U.S. to stay and work toward citizenship.
McCain offered the comments as the city girded for its first major pro-illegal rally - a march across the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday that ended in lower Manhattan.
Despite the Arizona Republican's support, marchers on Saturday sounded decidedly anti-GOP.
"We are fed up," said Humberto Suarezmotta, a former professor from Colombia, told the News.
"Since the Mayflower, immigrants have been coming here and now we have Republicans who are against minorities."
"The people united will never be defeated!" other demonstrators chanted in Spanish. "We're not going, but Bush can leave!"
I've thought about the Republicans' motivations a lot and what I've come up with is...McCain's ego is so big it's blotting out the sun. Graham spends his free time sniffing McCain's shorts and will go along with whatever he wants in the hope of being McCain's running mate. The rest of the Republicans who are onboard with this must be funded by the big business interests who want cheap labor. But the one I can't figure out is Bush--he's not running for anything. Unless he really is a one-world globalist who thinks that ultimately unrestricted borders are for the best.
But in the meantime, before we get to this one-world "utopia," the Republicans will have turned themselves into a permanent minority party by legalizing millions of votes for the opposition. The Democrats take over and the country goes down the tubes. And these guys think they're the smartest ones in the room. Amazing.
>If McCain is the GOP nominee, then I'm not voting GOP for the first time in my life.<
You and me both. If we're that stupid, and the Democrats nominate Virginia's Mark Warner, well, it's hello Democratic president.
is rolling.... pure FLAKE.
GWB and Karl Rove looked like they have been spoken to.
The two of them remind me of Damien Thorn these days.
I will 1000000000000% never vote for McPain in my butt.
I'm starting to come up with a different strategy for voting in '08. By the time WA has its primary (or caucuses, whatever the goofballs in Olympia have figured out for us to pick Presidential nominees), and it looks like McCain is ahead, because nobody else has caught fire, I might just try to ram Hillary through on the Rat side, if she's still viable by that time.
The Republicans grow ONLY through a period of hardship, the Kennedy-Johnson regime produced Nixon, the Carter debacle produced Reagan, and the Clintoon fiasco gave us back the House of Representatives for the first time in a couple of generations. Each time, while out in the wilderness, we washed out the flakes, like Rockefeller, Ford, and Dole. We need to purge ourselves of the McCains, the Chaffees, and the assorted RINOs, and what better time than during a Rat presidency? Hill will have the very shortest honeymoon of anyone elected in the lifetime of anyone reading this, everyone knows her, and her scheming. With Republican control of at least one house of Congress, there will be a minimum of damage she can do, and we can bork her SCOTUS nominees until the cows come home. Having a re-energized GOP for the 2010 elections, with the RINOs out on their asses, would be worth it. We'd have some seriously conservative folks groomed and ready to make Hill a one term president by 2012.

"According to the Gospel of McPain, these are all the thugs, murderers, and terrorists doing the jobs Americans just won't do!?"
LOL!!!
The whole thing wouldn't fit in the available space, so I tried to edit it, to get the same flavor!
That's great, Karen, hahahaha.
