There are more examples in this article that are disturbing. Frankly, I know it is troubling to my fellow Freeper's but it should be to American's around the country.
I too, ask the question, why is this a symbol that incites violence but the Mexican flag is not?

We really need to keep a list of these people who ban the American flag.
They need to have two things happen to them ~ (1) Be sued, as school officials, for doing so (since it violates the civil rights of the students), and (2) Be sued, as individuals, for all sorts of personal damages.
It is time to inflict on them the ultimate American punishment ~ suit by a thousand lawyers!!!

Ms. Schroeder sounds like a very patriotic mom, and she she has a brother serving in the Navy. An excellent role model for her son to be sure.

Anyone who is incited to violence by the sight of the American flag does not belong in America. It's that straightforward.

It is starting to seem like any display of American patriotism or recognition of Judeo-Christian values is off limits; however, to express hatred for our Republic or cultural values is to be encouraged.

"I too, ask the question, why is this a symbol that incites violence but the Mexican flag is not?" The Mexican rag represents the colonists who are occupying America. The American flag represents those whose land has been colonized. The colonists cannot allow a conquered people to be so brazen. I know the word "conquered" may seem extreme to some. But we are well on the way.

why is this(The Stars and Stripes) a symbol that incites violence but the Mexican flag is not? I know you are smarter then this but I'll explain it for the rest of the class...
Mexico never kicked anyone's ass in a war, The Star and Stripes has been carried into battle by ass kicking Americans since the days of the revolutionary war.
Why just the sight of American soldiers under arms and wearing the Star and Stripes on sleeves of their uniforms is enough to make the average illegal wet themselves.
Therefore to prevent ultra-violent Mexican gangs from having spaz attacks and sporadic fits of rage, Americans have to hide the symbol of our benign dominance over lesser nations and those peoples that don't want anything from us but a free ride.

Upon reading the article it appears they address your concern.
It says something about how if it was someone else waiving the Mexican flag at other students they would have the same issue with it.
It sounds like the kid is a little punk who's not aruging against illegal immigration but just flaunting the American flag at anyone who is hispanic.

The First Amendment protects the right of citizens to express themselves in a variety of ways. Public school students, as young citizens, may engage in many modes of expression from the words they speak to the ideas they write and even the clothes they wear.
Students can engage in political speech, which is considered the type of speech at the core of the First Amendment. The Founding Fathers considered such speech essential to the development of a constitutional democracy. The U.S. Supreme Court spelled out those rights in a case concerning public school students who spoke out on a major political issue of their time the Vietnam War.

The American flag is always displayed for the purpose of inciting something. It is SUPPOSED TO incite a patriotic emotion as well as a gratefulness for what has been handed doen to us as a Nation.
If AT ANY TIME there are people living within our borders who can be incited to violence by anyone displaying an American flag, on a shirt or on a pole, it is those who can be incited to violence who have the problem and their presence here should be highly suspect.
Waving our flag is, perhaps, a great test. If people of ANY other national background, living among us, become violent because of a waving American flag, we have a good indicator of potential enemies to our "home land security."
If a middle school student of ANY other national background can be incited to violence over the waving of an American flag, while taking advantage of our tax-supported schools, then it is an indicator of what his parents are or are not instructing him or her at home. Somebody at home is INCITING that student AGAINST our nation or at least to withhold due allegiance.

There was a thread that had a pic of an Ameican girl of Mexican heritage wearing a US flag. She looked like she was about to get lynched.
