What is CORRECT (in the PC sense) about changing 'suicide' to 'homicide' in the phrase?
As I see it, the only reason to make the change is to clarify that the purpose of these bombers is to murder others......not just kill themselves. One can argue about its value, but calling it "PC".....left or right.........is just plain not accurate.
And definitely not worth getting upset about. (Don't you have more important things - like say, abortion, socialism, or leftist lying to name a few - to worry about without getting worked up about a word change by Fox News?)
Yall need to hurry up and decide what to call him. His family will be wanting to bury him soon.
These bombers aren't interested in only taking their own life, they wish to take others, thus the term "homicide bomber" is more apt.
LOL. Right, because otherwise it would be too tough to figure out the purpose of someone walking into a crowded coffee shop and detonating a bomb. What idiocy.
And you people on the losing side of this debate keep trying to suggest I am angry. I get it. It's an attempt to somehow discredit me, the poster, since you're having no luck against my points. That's fine. Typical loser tactics. Doesn't bother me, and once again, I'm not the slightest bit angry. Actually, I was pleased to see so many supporting my point of view.
It's obvious to anyone with a functioning brain that someone who walks into a crowded shop and detonates a bomb intends to do harm. What isn't clear, unless it is described, is the method used. As another poster pointed out, Timothy McVeigh was a "homicide" bomber. But to insist on language that renders us unable to distinguish between a truck bomb and a human bomb is to cripple the language for the sake of emotion. It's just dumb.
