Stephanopoulos noted that such technologies are at least four years away and "all the scientists" say something must be done "right now." Schweitzer, quickly recovering from hopefulness and returning to the "be worried, be very worried" message, said "it's even more critical than that" because China and India are going to "put more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere with conventional coal-fired generators than all of the rest of the planet has during the last 150 years."

The libs are too stupid to realize the effect of their own overkill. The Chinese have ignored all warnings that their Three Gorges dam will be a disaster. So, if they, with the Indians, are going to pump those amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, and if of course the whole greenhouse gas spiel is as claimed, then there is absolutly nothing that CAN be done. Even if, as the envirowackos want, the U.S. unilaterally stops putting out any CO2 whatsoever, it will make no difference.

Basically, all the oil that currently exists on the planet is going to be burned by someone, somewhere. Better for us to burn it in the west where we have strict pollution controls than leave any for the third worlders with their highly inefficient, polluting automobiles and power plants.
That is, assuming that there is such a thing as global warming!

I am not a big fan of George Will, but this opinion piece sums up the MSM and their obsession with global warming very well.

"...Suppose the Earth is warming and suppose the warming is caused by human activity. Are we sure there will be proportionate benefits from whatever climate change can be purchased at the cost of slowing economic growth and spending trillions? Are we sure the consequences of climate change ...must be bad?"
"...Perhaps the problem is big crusading journalism."
