I offer to you that this gal was a leftist with certain views when she went ti Iraq and furthermore that her views are very likely to be much different now after what she has actually seen first hand.

Well, she may now realize that the terrorists really are actually dangerous and they don't make any distinction between the Americans who sympathize with them and those of us who despise them.

But she sure took a boneheaded route to find that out.

Nobody but a moron goes prancing around Baghdad like she did. I cannot understand why anybody would do that.

And she'd been doing it up until she got nabbed.

Stupid is as stupid does. Lets just hope something good can come from it.

She is a "I want to change the world" "journalist", from the liberal mecca of Ann Arbor Michigan. My neighbors are related to her, everyone is relieved she was not killed.

She is young and idealistic, and the experience will not change her previous "reporting" template of how bad the removal of Saddam and Sons are for Iraqis.

She will only get more airtime now to speak ill of US policy, regardless of her statement that her captors were just criminals, and her family and friends are hoping that with the recent statement she won't look like a kook anymore, and people will listen to her.

She was definitely a moron to go prancing around Baghdad. But I was glad to see her in western clothes, smiling, and to hear the recantation. It was those "Christian" "Peace" Activists bashing the ones who rescued them the other week that made me a little jumpy that she was going to do the same thing. I'll cut her a break. For now.
