'Transnationalists' Don't Take Immigration Reform Seriously
Real Clear Politics ^ | April 02, 2006 | John Leo

In his 1995 book "The Revolt of the Elites and the Betrayal of Democracy," the late Christopher Lasch argued that America's political and cultural elites had opened up a gap between themselves and ordinary Americans. "Many of them have ceased to think of themselves as Americans in any important sense, implicated in America's destiny for better or worse," he wrote. They are increasingly detached from their fellow citizens and drawn to an international culture, Lasch said, or what we would today call a transnational culture.

Consider the current immigration debate in this light. In the transnational view, patriotism, assimilation and cultural cohesion are obsolete concerns. Borders and the nation-state are on the way out. Transnational flows of populations are inevitable. Workers will move in response to markets, not old-fashioned national policies on immigration. Norms set by internationalists will gradually replace national laws and standards. The world is becoming a single place. Trying to impede this unifying process is folly.

The term "transnationals" specifically refers to those working in and around international organizations and multinational corporations. More broadly, it indicates a cosmopolitan elite with a declining allegiance to the place where they live and work, and a feeling that nationalism and patriotism are part of the past.

To some extent, their worldview cuts across Democratic-Republican and liberal-conservative lines, and reinforces the other concerns that prevent immigration control: the desire for cheap labor and Hispanic votes. Old-line one-worlders and enthusiastic supporters of the United Nations hear the siren call. So do many academics, judges and journalists who attend international conferences and tend to adopt a common consciousness and world outlook.

Our traitor-elites know exactly what they are doing. It's deliberate. The goal is to open the immivasion floodgates full blast, and swamp the USA with illiterate and unassimible illegal aliens from the 3rd world.

This is a back door approach to creating the CFR's "North American Community" by fait accompli.

In ten years, our traitor-elites will look us in the face and say, "Nothing can be done, we are stuck with the new reality. Therefore, the only way to deal with our common situation is with a common solutions, with one new nation stretching from the Arctic to Guatemala."

Count on it.

And you know the TRAITORS on Free Republic by how they are trying to push this open borders to no borders agenda today, in 2006.

Quisling: A word Norwegians are not very proud of having given to the world: it derives from Vidkun Quisling (1887-1945), a Norwegian politician who collaborated with the Nazis during World War II. He established his name as a synonym for "traitor", someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country, especially by serving in a puppet government. Quisling was found guilty of high treason in 1945, and

was executed by firing squad on the 24th October 1945.

We won't forget the traitors, either, who are knowingly selling out American sovereignty to the lowest bidder.

Because ideas don't hurt America.

Thats where you show your true agenda. They do hurt and they are, because deluded people in our government are implementing them.

Exactly how has that occurred?

For ONE.

We have 20 to 30 million criminal aliens in this country.

We have a corrupt government that says they can stay, in spite of the will of 80% of the American people.

They already say this. How do you deport 20 million people, they whine. Well, how did it get to be such a large number of people in the first place? Its time for the American people to call their corrupt official on the carpet.

This part of the thread, about the CFR, is an indication that tinfoiler conspirazoids are alive and well on FR.

Hardly. You have an organization that not only calls for dissolution of borders but has testified to Congress several times on their ideas. Worse yet there are congressmen like Jim Kolbe who belong to it and are promoting amnesties and guest worker programs as we speak, exactly what the CFR is calling for. Excuse most of us who don't happen to believe that's just a coincidence or they're only a bunch of harmless old men who get to together to talk about women and football while they play pinochle.

And here are the Council of Foreign Republicans' "foot soldiers" for their "Building a North American Community" treason agenda.

Strange bedfellows for "Republicans" (sic).

Having said that I must say that I think Tony is one of the best of the best in terms of his motives, facts and ability to interpret facts. He's the closest thing to a true conservative I know.

Is that why his views on immigration of late have made most conservatives prone to lose their latest meal?

This is so, so sad. There hasn't been a moment in my life that I've felt more depressed about the fate of our nation, and for my party, than I do this day.

It was just a few weeks ago that I debated someone over voting for a third party candidate, making the case that to chose a third party candidate was a waste of a vote. Now, I'm afraid that it is me, in fact, who has wasted a lot of votes over the past decade.

I used to think I was a Republican. My wife has worked on the staff of Republican congressional candidates in three elections. She volunteered twice to help President Bush get elected. I've sent my money to Republican candidates for over 20 years.

Now, for the first time since my first vote for Ronald Reagan, I'm not sure what party, if any, I can support in the coming elections. I am devastated by what I see happening in the Senate. I see this "compromise" bill as a blunder of epic proportion that will, if passed and signed, lead this country to social and economic disaster.

I cannot even picture myself standing in a voting booth anytime in the near future.

So a past CEO of LaRaza (stepped down in 2005) was on the task force of this project. Makes sense.

However, honor, not to mention honesty, is in damn short supply when it comes to dealing with the cultural elites.

I wonder where the cultural elites think they are going to live after they turn all the once great countries into cess pools? I'll bet that island is going to be REAL CROWDED.

Excuse most of us who don't happen to believe that's just a coincidence or they're only a bunch of harmless old men who get to together to talk about women and football while they play pinochle.

The more I read about the CFR, the more I want to go hide under the bed. Why, here's what Lou Dobbs and Devvy Kidd have to say about the CFR:

Lou Dobbs, CNN Anchor: Good evening, everybody. Tonight, an astonishing proposal to expand our borders to incorporate Mexico and Canada and simultaneously further diminish U.S. sovereignty. Have our political elites gone mad? We'll have a special report. Blood ... Now, incredibly, a panel sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations wants the United States to focus not on the defense of our own borders, but rather create what effectively would be a common border that includes Mexico and Canada."

Christine Romans, CNN Correspondent (voice-over): On Capitol Hill, testimony calling for Americans to start thinking like citizens of North America and treat the U.S., Mexico and Canada like one big country.

(Devvy)For constitutionalists like myself, this is treason talk and Lou Dobbs should be thanked by the American people for exposing this evil plan. The fact that it is even being discussed in the U.S. Congress is putrid. The Council on Foreign Relations is an organization whose mission is to redefine American policy and slide this republic into a one-world government – a nightmare beyond what most Americans can't even imagine

Source.

You know Devvy Kidd don't you?

In case you don't, here's a bit about her:

You know, if you start to think that most of these leaders of the "tax protestor" movement have a screw loose which is rattling around in only half a brain, you only have to look as far as Devvy Kidd for confirmation. Devvy buys into about every far-right-wing conspiracy theory, including that the world is actually illegally controlled by Freemasons. New World Order, United Nations, buying Chinese products -- if it is a stupid theory the odds are good that Devvy has bought into it whole hog.

Of course, not having half a brain doesn't mean that you can't cash in like the other tax scam artists. For a mere $24.95 you can get the whole Devvy collection of conspiracy theories and her "proof". But wait! Selling CDs is small pickin's compared to Devvy's other gig, which is endorsing "El Dorado Gold Discount" which deals in gold coins over the internet.

At one point, Devvy apparently tried to form the "Wallace Institute" (named after Mel Gibson's character in Braveheart) but was unsuccessful in getting 501(c)(3) charitable status, so that went by the wayside.

Devvy's theory regarding taxes is that the 16th Amendment was never properly ratified. Of course, she didn't do any significant research on her own but merely refers to ex-felon and fellow Quatlooser Bill Benson's "The Law That Never Was". In January of 2000, Devvy proclaimed that the Wallace Institute was preparing to file a lawsuit in Oklahoma City to declare the 16th Amendment illegal. The case of course went nowhere. Devvy also has put our flyers declaring the income tax to be "voluntary", although the courts have regularly sanctioned, fined, and convicted those who have raised this ridiculous argument.

Devvy has also been implicated in the "We the People" scam, which has had its greatest publicity recently with Lynne Meredith's indictment. We can only hope that Devvy is soon able to spend long hours chatting with her comrade-in-scam.

Quatlosers is a great source to kill two birds with one stone: the major conspirazoids who spout the CFR nonsense are also gold bugs and tax protesters.

What the elites have learned is that life is sweet inside of the gated communities of the third world, and labor is as cheap as air. Lawn boys, maids, field hands and factory help are dirt cheap.

The "Davos Republicans" can't see the grinding poverty from a Gulfstream G-100 cruising at 40,000 feet.
