Yes, I saw that program the other night. Very enlightening. I too didn't realize the powerful link between the two. Also, the dark spiritual undercurrent is very apparent. The goals are the same. Elimination of the Jews and Christians, institution of an Anti-Christ figure.

I don't know where the History Channel gets its history. The Baath Party was founded in 1945 mainly by Michel Aflaq, an Orthodox Christian educated in Syria and France, as a means of opposing French rule in Syria. While Baathism, due to factionalism, militarism, and ideological inconsistencies, didn't end up helping the Middle East very much, its ideals are certainly better than that of Islam.
