They catch 16 illegals in the area riding in a van. They call immigration and immigration says to let them go.

I'm sure there is probably no valid driver's license or insurance on the vehicle.

But if the police detain the driver, then what? Do they detain them all locally? I would think that they don't want to, that's why they let them go on their way.

It is the world turned upside down, for sure. What should be happening isn't. What shouldn't be happening is.

Arresting them is a good start. Maybe they can't be detained locally, but when one is arrested, there's a record, fingerprints and a paper trail. Charge whoever you can charge with whatever you can, and try to at least collect a fine.

When you hassle criminals, they move elsewhere. Burglar alarms don't stop burglary, they just hassle the burglar and keep him on the move.

Pay attn to who pays the bail. That might be your "godfather."
