AS John Wesley (among others) pointed out over 200 years ago, there are some things that are essential Christian beliefs. Salvation by Grace is one of those essential beliefs. So, if the Church of Christ were to have those beliefs then they'd be outside of the fence. They'd be joining Mormans, Jehovah's Witnesses, Church of Christ Scientist, etc who also have doctrines that differ significantly. The irony of this discussion, of course, is that the original poster suggests that we are saved by faith in true doctrine rather by grace....

Sure. But being non-Christian is not the same thing as being in a cult, which is the characterization I'm disputing.
