I agree. It sounds like they have abandoned her to help the Rat! Sounds fishy to me!

And to answer my own question, she twice won election to statewide office, something Keyes has never done.
What is the explanation for the difficulties with her own staff?

No one is like Alan Keyes as a senatorial candidate. No one.
To: HostileTerritory
Agreed.
But from some of the comments on this thread, one might think so.

Initial name recognition. That's what counts in Jan through May.
By June core issues come into play.
By Sept 15, supplemental issues come into play
By Oct 15 or even later, those supplemental issues have become the new core issues.
Remember the 2000 BS GWB DWI issue? Almost cost us the election.
Debates? KH wins on many points but loses horribly on style. Debate results? 60-30-10 Nelson.
Even now she polls horribly on supermodels and Q rating. Her Z is even worse.
Best prediction today? Nelson 58- Harris 38- other 4
Any more bad news and Nelson will go over 60% and Dems will start moving money OUT of his campaign to help other dems, because his victory is well assured.
Sorry, but it's reality.

What is the explanation for the difficulties with her own staff? Typical behind-the-scenes politics by people who didn't get their way, that's all.

Actually, I think she might have finally realized that Rollins was all name recognition and little substance. He's a little like Carville on the other side, except I think he actually does have a few wins, unlike Carville.

If Harris was a RINO the RNC hacks would be pleading with the base to support her.
Another reason why conservatives should donate to individual candidates and not to the Republican Senatorial Committee and other GOP-affiliated groups.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
I understand and was being facetious.
Yes, I agree that conservatives should donate to conservative candidates directly. Frankly, that's the way I've always donated. I have NEVER donated to the party. Furthermore, I choose for whom I volunteer and for whom I vote and why.

Hopefully the ones leaving ( or paid to leave ) are not savy about the new media.
I think with some new media savy handlers she may have a much better chance.
