I was appalled and disappointed in the Montebello High School incident with the flag on Thursday, March 30, 2006.

I cannot believe that the school permitted the students access to the flag, and that they allowed our flag of the United States of America to be flown in this manner. I am totally disgusted with the students that are at this school to receive an education demonstrating their lack of civilized behavior, education, character, and understanding of the rights and privileges that they receive as the result of thousands fighting and dying for their safety and freedom under this flag.

I am also very surprised that the teaching staff has failed so completely in instilling some sort of patriotism, belief in the democratic system of government, and an understanding of how a government works in a civilized society. These students were behaving like a crazed mob. Their comments and actions totally out of control. Where was the teaching staff? Who stepped up to stop this? What type of educational system trains children to behave in this manner when they are about to reach adulthood?

These students are certainly not equipped to reach out into a civilized business or political society with any understanding of how to conduct their lives.

You have all failed miserably in preparing these children for life, success, or freedom.

I say, NO WORK PROGRAMS! NO AMNESTY! LEAVE OR GET DEPORTED! EMPLOYERS, VERIFY EMPLOYEES OR GET FINED!
