And 50 years ago the cost of a gallon was .12 cents a gallon. Minimum wage here was .25 cents an hour.

Today gas is $2.50 a gallon.
Minimum wage here about $7.00 an hour.

Gas is still cheaper today than in 1956.

%0 years ago the price of a gallon o regular was about $0.25 A gallon, but you are still on point. While I was in Germany last week, I paid $6.00 a gallon.

At 2.50 a gallon it's just about the same price as buying bottled water.

In fact at my local gas/convenience store gas is 2.60 a gallon while the cheap brand of bottled water works out to about 4.50 a gallon.
