I find it interesting that so many here want it both ways.
They want reporting from Iraq so the "good news" can come out.
Yet at the same time they demand that only the military or those in direct support of the military actually be present there...
They say Jill had no business being there. Then how do they expect to get reports from the ground in Iraq? They want women reporters to dress in western cloths - which would make it impossible to observer actual Iraqis as they stand out like a sore thumb.
Major hypocrisy run amok...

I have to laugh at posters who, from the comfort of their homes, find joy in criticising the statements of a 28yo young woman which were either made while in captivity, or shortly thereafter while still in country -- after having been held by subhuman monsters who frequently remove the heads from their captives with butcher knives. Talk about Monday morning quarterbacking.

She had no business being there. I'll second it. It is a war zone. The soldiers belong there. Were there women running around German/ Guadalcanal? reporting on the fighting? NO. Because ... it was dangerous. Also, if they are just observing, they do not truly understand, I think.
