she said the police responsible for protecting lawmakers should recognize them on sight.

There are 535 congresscritters, a few more if you count the non-voting reps from DC, etc. How many people can recognize quickly on sight that many people? Dang few, even in the political business where such skill would be an asset. Bill Clinton might be able to do it with his famously good memory for everything (except the truth.) If she were to make this claim in her defense in court I'd put her on the stand with the following challenge. Give her pictures of 1000 people and have her pull out and successfully identify the top 535 donors to her last campaign.

"How many people can recognize quickly on sight that many people?"

I am about to fly to a professional conference where I will 'know' probably 500+ of the 1000 or so attendees - yet I will be anxiously trying to sneak peaks at name badges because I know from past experience that I cannot possibly connect face and name hundreds of times without some "outside assistance" such a the name badge. I don't see how the Capitol Police can possibly function with various Congresscritters rushing past checkpoints expecting to be recognized at a glance....... or maybe McKinney is the only one who does that!!
