This kid is being disingenuous. It sounds to me like the kids were using the flag to taunt others. I don't think that's proper.

This kid is being disingenuous. It sounds to me like the kids were using the flag to taunt others. I don't think that's proper. You don't ban the flag as a response, you punish the kids that acted up not the flag.

So carrying a Mexican flag at protests is not a way to taunt the US? Looked that way to me , escpecially when many also chanted such taunting slogans as "Gringos out of America!" and "This is our land, not yours!"

I'm sorry but if you can be taunted by an American flag, I think that's your problem. This is America. That's the flag of the country. If you don't like it, there are plenty of other countries out there with different flags. And perhaps if those Mexican protesters had been marching with American flags instead of Mexican flags in the first place, this wouldn't be an issue.
