Howlin, I have known some unsavory folks in my time. I still know some personally. I live in an area where, literally, on one side of the highway you have our neighborhood and on the other you have those of ill repute. You learn a lot in an area like mine.
My brother's wife was a "dancer" in her younger days and that wasn't that long ago. She and my brother have property currently being rented by a woman who worked for an escort service out of Fayetteville. (I have repeatedly questioned my brother's ethics for allowing this woman to live in his rental property).
Dancers called upon for private entertainment such as bachelor parties etc are normally contacted through an agency of sorts which always negotiate the price of their services beforehand, and in turn, pay the girls. Anything the girls are asked to and agree to do "on the side" can be negotiated upon arrival or during the course of the evening. Any woman working for an escort service pays out to the service a percentage of the night's income if she was contracted through the service. Any services they perform outside of the "contracted" services is theirs to keep. If Durham's escort services work the way most do, the service was paid upfront for the girls' appearance at the party. Why would the guys be outside discussing money unless something "extra" was in the works?
BTW, anyone familiar with the "entertainment" business will tell you, escort service is usually synonymous with "prostitution".
Good post
