If I was innocent, I wouldn't hire an attorney. I also wouldn't talk to the cops, either. I'd simply say I didn't do anything and to get off my property unless they had a search warrant or an arrest warrant. Wouldn't submit to a DNA test either without a legally valid warrant.

If i witnessed a crime, I would have stopped it if possible.

And if you're a man accused of rape, that would be the dumbest thing you could do. An accusation of rape of child molestation equals instant guilt in the eyes of the public and the press.

In this case, these kids did they right and smartest thing they could do.
