If you haven't read it yet, there's a charming story about Seattle's ancient Spanish Castle club, where the original Seattle/Pacific Northwest rock and roll scene festered (Paul Revere and the Raiders, Rockin' Robin Roberts and the Wailers, et. al.) in the early 1960s, in Dave Marsh's Louie, Louie. Jimi Hendrix, apparently, was among the regulars who hung at the club (before he became a working musician himself) and probably wrote "Spanish Castle Magic" in tribute to those days...
