Naw, this was the standard red stripe/red number on the stabilizer USFS paint job.
I just thought it was kinda neat to see one of the old birds still in the air.
Yea until recemtly visiting a Fire Attack airbase was a lot like visiting a WW-II airfield.
Quick story of my own. In the early seventies I was driving a friends car at college in Warrensburg, MO when I heard or rather felt a strange noise. I pulled over to the side of the street and there about 1500 ft overhead was a B-17. It was a Fire Attack aircraft and had had to land at Whiteman AFB for a mechanical issue. I almost wrecked his car before I got pulled over.
