McKinney: Officer At Fault

In a Friday afternoon news conference, Georgia Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-4th) said that the altercation between she and a Capitol police officer was started by the officer "inappropriately touching and stopping" her after she walked past a security checkpoint.

Prior to the news conference that, at times, seemed more like a church revival meeting, one of McKinney's lawyers, James W. Myart Jr. said that her problems with police are racial in nature.

“Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials because of how she looks and the color of her skin,” Myart said. “Ms. McKinney is just a victim of being in Congress while black.”

McKinney’s office on Thursday afternoon, released a video clip from the independent documentary “American Blackout,” in which McKinney is questioned by a Capitol police officer who does not immediately recognize her. In the clip, she implies that the questioning is because she is black.

Colmes saying he can't claim to "understand the black experience".

And that means exactly WHAT?!

If Alan thought about it, he'd realize he's saying: "The cops should have a different rule for blacks....because of their 'experience'".

Now, that's racist.

"I wear a white lab coat with a pink name-tag and I do smart things and stuff. ;-)"

Interesting. I wore a white lab coat in the AF working on delicate non-biolical things. Now I wear dirty clothes and make very expensive microwave designs function as they should. I have strong legs from climbing:)

Does who hits on you better win a date?

Who was that black congresswoman a few years ago who was found to be "abusing" her staff---making them run errands for her, drive her to work, etc.? Can't believe I can't remember it.

I was hoping I never had to hear Leo Terrell's voice again but guess this brings them all out from under their rocks.

"one of McKinney's lawyers, James W. Myart Jr."

SEPTEMBER 8, 2004

BLACK FARMERS FILE NEW MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR BIAS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGIANST THE USDA

WASH. D,C, - “The Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association, Inc. (BFAA, INC.) and fifteen individual black farmers, acting as class representatives for nearly 70,000 affected black farmers, from around the country will file a new class action lawsuit against the USDA and its top officials,” said Tom Burrell, president of the 10,000 member black farmer rights organization. BFAA, Inc., a Delaware Corporation, has its national office in Memphis TN. and has state chapters in sixteen, primarily Southern states.

BFAA, Inc.’s lawyers are civil rights litigator James W. Myart, Jr, BFAA General Counsel and lead attorney for the new lawsuit, Kent Krause and Paula Walsh all from Texas. Myart is licensed to practice law in the United District Court for the District of Columbia, D.C., among other federal judicial districts around the country. Tom Burrell said, “We are presently putting in place a stellar and expanded class action litigation committee, a legal dream team if you will, made up of our lawyers from Texas and renown civil rights lawyers in D.C. and from throughout the United States.”

I got the impression that the tape mentioned was of a previous incident.

Do you think there's a tape of this one? If so, bring it on.

Yikes, the one from IL? Didn't she also send her boyfriend to the Bahamas on the taxpayer dime? Help, I can't remember.

That was Carol Mosely Braun! I'd almost forgotten. Boy, what a mess she was.

But she's not the one I'm thinking of. Guess there are just too many to keep track of!

I'm from Georgia, and I didn't recognize her immediately with the new hairdo - and I don't think it's nearly as flattering as the way she used to wear it.

You're being kind - I think it looks like it was done with a chainsaw...

I can't stop myself from watching, thinking that surely one of these times his head will explode on national TV.

I wondered about that comment myself.

The "black experience" evidently means that you, among 535 people, don't have to wear your identifying pin and when questioned about it, Harry Belafonte and Danny Glover will come and stand beside you, even though they admittedly don't know the facts.

I hope they show those "muliti=angle" tapes on an IMAX screen.

Carol Mosely Braun

Thanks for remembering the name of another Congressional basket case. The person you might mean is Sheila Jackson Lee, I remember a controversy about her transportation issues.

I was thinking that I could do a better job...and I found out why the Lord didn't give me any little girls when I tried to fix my nieces' hair. ;-)

Didn't take long for that card to be played.

It's the only card she's got.

Unscramble the ponytail before washing. I'll be back later. I never stay out late. I like getting up very early.
