The last names of the parents seem to be Haitian which is even more odd to me.

Haitians tend to be very family oriented people who enjoy extended family relations, especially aunts. Someone in this family knows what is going on...more will come out.

Haitians tend to be suspicious of law enforcement in the Miami area. It's difficult to get them to admit a family member has done something. Yet, when it comes to a child, that may be enough of a wrench to get them to open up.

Thank God the little girl is alive and physically OK from what we know.
