Representative Cynthia McKinneys lawyer says that she is simply a victim of being in Congress while black.
McKinney planned a late-afternoon news conference in Washington to discuss the altercation she had with a Capitol police officer on Wednesday. Her lawyer, James W. Myart Jr. says that her problems with police are racial in nature.
Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials because of how she looks and the color of her skin, Myart said. Ms. McKinney is just a victim of being in Congress while black.
Just over one of the stairwells at the Blackburn Center (I went to school at Howard).
What's taking so long? Is she trying to round up all the other people who are "in Congress while Black"? Where are Conyers, and that crazy lady from L.A., et al.?
Mural is definately islamic.
Interesting choice of wardrobe. Orange.
Oh brother. The NCAAP is there.
She should buy some of that skin cream that Michael Jackson finds so.....WHITE!
NOW is there.
"This whole thing was instigated by the inappropriate touching of me, a black, congress woman." (or something close to that)
I think i'm gonna be sick.
She just gave her thirty second speech in which she said she couldn't discuss the incident since it may be referred for prosecution. But she claims she's the victim since she's female and black. Her appearance and command of English is bizarre, to say the least. No wonder D.C. cops ask to see her ID.
brb ... nice some wine. *sigh*
NAACP dude: "The officers talked to the children like "animals" ... like they came "off the plantation."
McKinney's attorneys have NOT seen the video of the incident.
Your right about them not seeing the tape. I wanna see her go down hard.
Channel 2 Action News has learned that Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-CA.) intervened when word got out Wednesday night that McKinney might be arrested.
She says she approached the House sergeant-at-arms to discuss the situation.
Millender-McDonald sits on the House committee that oversees the Capitol Hill police and the sergeant-at-arms' office.

You use logic and reasoning and you don't pander to that attitude to describe yourself.
Everytime you are on the news, I am the first one to tell my friends that you are a freeper.
There are light years difference between you and Mckinney, and it's surprising that you two hail from the same city, much less the same planet.
Why not run for her seat? Just curious! :)
Several reasons - first, I don't live in her district (thank God!), second, that district was drawn to be a Democratic district (a Republican doesn't have a snowball's chance there), third, now that I'm back in news, I'm enjoying it too much to leave, and fourth, I have no desire for an ulcer...[g]
But thanks for your vote of confidence...
Yet, Tom DeLay is a rich white corrupt Republican, according to the McKinney's of the country.
The way the race card is played every time a rich Black Dimocrat does wrong makes one thinnk the entire Police of our Country are card carrying Klan members.
Did FNC report the officer was a young, white female?
Punched in the chest?
