Do you know the names of the other 11 states that have no law against open containers?

No but here is his reply From:Joseph.Booth@state.de.us You make some good points. It is not without any reservations that I cast a yes vote. However, given the research and information and to remain (at least try to) consistant on the issue at hand,it is a decission I will stick with.I do appreciate your contacting me regarding your views.joe From: Yankees98a Sent: Mon 4/3/2006 3:13 PM To: Booth Joseph (LegHall); Hocker Gerald (LegHall) Subject: RE: Open Container legislation I guess we can agree to disagree. The state of Delaware should not be steamrolled by a federal mandate, as the state should have it's own rules. In addition the state should not look to other states as the Supreme Court should be basing it decision on US law, not Foreign Law. While 63% may support that decision, polls have error. There is also the question of how such question was asked. Irregardless the rights of the minority should be protected. If there was 0 accidents because of open container laws, why should the rights of the minority be removed so that the state gets money reallocated from signs to construction. Is it worth the money to sacrifice our principals so that we can become the "nanny state". Where will this fine money go to? Will it be going to the police department so they can fatten their coffers or to a charity for children of DUI victims(wishful thinking?) Will the police be adding one more thing to their list rather than fight crime? Now let me ask you this. If 63% agreed that there should be extra taxes on dry cleaning establishment, less pay for the legislature, or term limits would you agree to that so fast? Polls can be manipulated any which way. However our freedom to make choices should not.
