Hmmm, V.D. was sugar coating it. One third of illegals are on welfare -- he didn't mention that, and the list of complications, Mexico's duplicitous behavior, what Fox wants, etc., political ramifications with both republicans and dems, it's really bad. Not to mention terrorists coming over the border. And then there's the rest of the hemisphere, most of whom want to come here, too.
Yes, I agree he was sugar coating it (why would he do that though?) but one has to correct for those little shortcomings while reading.
Yes, he did gloss over some of that, but otherwise it was a good column. I think he also underestimated the criminal numbers--in Oklahoma City alone, the Mexican gangs have increased dramatically. We call our evening news the "drive-by shooting report."
Not to mention the many who have no medical insurance and bankrupt the hospitals with their emergency room visits.

The owner of a Mexican restaurant in Alabama is a Mexican (probably here legally), but he hires illegal aliens and piles them into small apartments. They sleep on the floors -- and they think they're in heaven compared to living conditions in Mexico.
The same can be said for most of the illegals here -- free health-care, free schools, etc.
He did put a layer of sugar on it, but you must agree he beats the snot out of the cfr types who couldn't give a straight answer to their own sex if asked.
