"I would not make a big deal of this," said Pelosi, D-Calif.
Sorry, Rep. (stands for Reprehensible) Pelosi, but it's a VERY big deal. First, it shows yet again the contempt that so many 'Rats have for law enforcement. 2nd, it shows yet again how casual many 'Rats are about national security - there's no way a sensitive checkpoint at the Capitol can be properly maintained if 'Rats feel free to race through, bypassing the metal detector without even making sure that they have been recognized and approved by the harried police trying to maintain order at the checkpoint. McKinney and her fellow 'Rats will soon play the race card, just watch, but it really is about a reckless sense of privilege and entitlement run amock. Finally, Rep. McKinney, once you strike a police officer all bets are off, you have entered into FELONY territory and you SHOULD have the book thrown at you. Whether the Capitol Police will be able to see this through properly is a different question, since now they will be subject to all sorts of inappropriate political pressure from the 'Rats to settle the matter quietly.

Let us note how much coverage this gets, and imagine if any Rep. had done the same.

It will give her a splendid opportunity to mingle with the "Unwashed masses" in the Drunk Tank for a few hours while she'd being processed!

The Capital Police should use a SWAT team to serve the warrant on her, complete with flash bangs, tear gas, and fully auto rifles. ;-)

She'll walk.
Senators can kill with impunity.
Certainly black, female congresswomen can punch policemen.

This is the Congressperson who repeatedly introduces bills to ban so-called "Assault Weapons". It is time to ban "Assault Hands", and lop her hands off.

BTW - If the policeman she punched was white, would this be a "hate crime"?

At least they mentioned this in this post.

Didn't the articles posted here on FR yesterday say she attempted to bypass the metal detector? I worked for years in prisons and everyone, even the Superintendent and the State Commissioner were required to pass through the metal detector and show their ID before being allowed entry or exit. In fact, if the officers didn't request to see the ID's, they could be disciplined. And, at any time, any employee could have their bags searched by a uniformed supervisor.

The Democrats' disrespect for police officers is revealing. Any one else who struck a police officer would go to jail on the spot. Nancy Pelosi should be up there demanding that Cynthia McKinney be subject to the same laws as lesser mortals. But no, if you're a Democrat, its "no big deal." Tom DeLay was forced to surrender his House leadership position for less. Its time for McKinney to face the music.

Better late than never. She should have been arrested yesterday for assaulting a Cop. The thing is, this isn't the first time she's done something like this. She has a very nasty reputation, and apparently likes to flaunt her "authority".
To: MikeA
I hope there is a Freeper than can snap a picture of her doing the perp walk, assuming it actually happens, because the MSM will bury it, or "accidentally" put an (R) after her name when reporting in print, or not mentioning any party relationship when reporting via TV or radio.

The six-term congresswoman apparently struck a Capitol Police officer when he tried to stop her from entering a House office building without going through a metal detector. You try this and see what happens!

Thomas later tearfully apologized on the House floor. What's the deal with all these tearful apologies by our elected representatives? I mean, I know they're a bunch of wimps, but enough already.

I was beginning to think the Capitol Hill Police we're going to wimp out.
That would have brought the question of what would have happened to that thug if she had punched a real cop.
