Janet said it better than I could, so I'll just second what she said. I won't stay home from the polls though, I'll vote 3rd party. The Republicans are too stupid to realize why they lost unless our votes show up somewhere. If that means the dims take over, so what?

Unfortunately some of the powers-that-be here don't share your aversion to winning arguments through liquidating opponents- at least in a cyber sense. Maybe if you suggested to them that purging smacks of something other than American politics they might take your hint.

I think the "one border" idea is stupid.
The original comment referred, I believe, to what the notion of a borderless Canada-US-Mexico area, with merely a southern border in Mexico.
That would be a stupid idea.

Tony, what is your reaction to the idea of a 'United States of North America'?

If Canada & Mexico were invited to join our Union, under our Constitution, would the CFR have an objection?

I'm going to hold my fire on Jill Carroll until she comes back to the US. She made her statement in the offices of a Sunni Muslim political party. I probably would be super careful about what I said there too.

A journalism school pal of mine works for the CSM. I've got an e-mail off to her about what the story is with JC, which ought to be interesting: my pal's grad thesis was on Kate Webb, the UPI Phnom Penh bureau chief who was held as a prisoner by the Pathet Lao during the Vietnam War. And Katie Webb came out of it okay, when several others in the same position did not.
