I don't have the option to relocate, as my company is only based in Tampa.

There's plenty of land in the area, but a lot of it is scheduled to be developed. My current commute is less than 15 minutes. If I moved to the nearest rural area, it would be 1 hour 15 minutes. There's a tradeoff there, for sure.

Friends of ours just transferred to the Tampa area for work reasons. They have commented on how busy the area is and how unfriendly the people are. Of course, they lived in small town Northern Michigan where you knew and said hello to everyone. It has been a bit of a culture shock. And of course, Michigan empties out of retirees that head to Florida for the winter. We can always tell when they come back, as we have to drive defensively once again (if you know what i mean).

Your area is experiencing high growth. This is a pain-in-the-neck for anybody who does not already own or have a lot of money. That's not going to change.
