That would depend on their particular situation. Most illegals who find work here find it doing difficult work for extremely low wages. As such, yes, I look at that as a modern form of slavery.

People who work in sweat-shops make money too. The idea is that they never make enough money to better themselves. It's purposely made impossible to ever get out of their situation by paying them just enough for them to survive.

As such, yes, I look at that as a modern form of slavery.

In an alternate universe the South set the slaves free as it was demanded they do...and then they hired them back for a pittance and let them fend for themselves for everything else.
