Well it's starting to sound like Miss Carroll was perhaps in on it from the beginning. I just heard her on Fox....she stressed over and over how well she was treated saying it was 'very important the American people heard this'. Never one word about how she was held against her will. How she was kept from leaving if she wanted to (assuming she really did want to).

Maybe they released her because nobody paid any ransom or negotiated for her. Maybe they (and she) just gave up.

Or she was brainwashed...maybe. Regardless, she's now a poster child for moveon.org and a sistah-in-kind to Cindy Sheebat.

You know this case was strange from day one. I remember that

--the foreign press and Europe always seemed more interested in her than the American press;
--American journalists who were interviewed about her indicated that she might have been held by a criminal cell and would be returned.

Makes me think she might be a well known flake and the American media distanced themselves.

Yes, time will tell for certain. But even Shep remarked that her demeanor in view of the prior crying etc. "was odd".

I think the FBI better keep an eye on her though.

I do remember when she was kidnapped seeing someone interviewed on Fox confused at why they took her because he claimed Jill was sympathetic to their cause...and it didn't make sense to him....I think he worked for the CSM...

Why would that person be killed. What nationality was he/she?. Are interpretors just chopped liver to be ignored?

For me, it's the clothes. She was dropped off wearing this "Muslim chic" outfit? No dirty old black burka for her. She was obviously provided with several changes of clothing for her various filmings. I bet they let her pick this little outfit herself. Did you notice the wire holding the headscarf away from her face at just the right angle? There was some good money spent on these clothes.

She was wearing Arab garb for a while before her abduction, apparently to blend in with the local female population. The clothes aren't a big issue for me.

I'd expect she'll write a big story for the Christian Science Monitor about her time in captivity. That will be the thing to judge her on.

Thanks. I googled it also. Looks like they had decades-old info. I know that they were the original reason the kidnappers would "demand" releasing female prisoners.

I guess it just sounds good now.
