MoveOn.org Continues Push for "Progressive" Francine Busby
National Republican Congressional Committee Communications Division ^ | March 30, 2006 | WILLIAM FINN BENNETT - Staff Writer

WASHINGTON – Since when are "moderate" Democrats endorsed, bankrolled, staffed, and defined as "progressive" by radical left-wing organizations?

Ask Francine Busby.

MoveOn.org, the radical left-wing group that helped Busby raise over $40,000 for her campaign, recently urged its members to support "progressive Democrat Francine Busby," while Busby's website refers to her as "moderate."

Additionally, Busby has repeatedly refused to go on the record either supporting or opposing 10 prominent pieces of legislation considered by Congress in 2005.

William Safire's New Political Dictionary defines "progressive" and "moderate" thusly:

progressive a movement of social protest and economic reforms; a word now offering an alternative to those who wish not to be labeled LIBERAL.

moderate positioned slightly to the left of center; a word more acceptable to conservatives than liberal, more dynamic than middle-of-the-roader.

"Francine Busby is trying to play Jedi mind tricks on North County voters," said National Republican Congressional Committee press secretary Jonathan Collegio. "The fringe-left groups supporting Busby are doing so because she is a liberal, yet she continues to call herself a "moderate," and refuses to state her positions on the real issues facing Congress."

Below, the NRCC has again provided for Busby a list of 10 votes faced by Congress last year. Voters are waiting to know how Ms Busby would "vote" on this legislation.

I like David Horowitz's definition better:

"Progressive"= Communist

Support? With filthy capitalist dollars squeezed from the downtrodden workers?
