Busby Campaign Relying on Out of State Activists to Tell San Diegans How to Vote
SAN DIEGO With polls showing liberal Democrat candidate Francine Busby failing in her attempt to win the 50th congressional district seat on April 11th, San Diego Republican leader Ron Nehring blasted the Busby campaign today for relying on out of state left-wing activists who are being urged to call San Diego voters and tell them how to vote.
The ultraliberal anti-war group MoveOn.org is urging left-wing activists around the nation to call voters in her CA district to help Busby in an e-mail distributed yesterday.
Maybe if Francine Busby wasnt so out of touch with voters of North San Diego County she wouldnt have to outsource her volunteer efforts to out-of-state left-wing activists who probably couldnt find the 50th district with a map and a compass, said Nehring. This is the latest example of how the grand campaign organization Busby envisioned earlier this year is turning out to be vaporware.
WHAT DOES MOVEON.ORG KNOW THAT WE DONT?
In an apparent attempt to hide her liberal beliefs from voters until after the election, Busby has refrained from taking specific policy positions on an array of issues ranging from making the Bush tax cuts permanent to the Patriot Act. Yet, in their e-mail to liberal activists, MoveOn.org describes Busby in rigid ideological terms, calling her unequivocally progressive.
Francine Busby cant hide her liberalism from San Diego County voters forever, said Nehring. Far left groups like MoveOn.org dont get behind conservative candidates, and we all know progressive is the Orwellian term meaning liberal. The group proudly claims that its members have already contributed $125,000 to Busbys campaign.
TAXPAYER RESOURCES USED FOR CAMPAIGNING?
In the last month, the Republican Party of San Diego County has highlighted numerous attempts by Busby, who claims she wants to clean up Congress, to use taxpayer resources to promote her political campaign. A recent visit to a Cardiff school (where Busby is a board member) was promoted by her congressional campaign committee, while a week later complaints were filed with law enforcement agencies describing how Busby has apparently been benefiting from her campaign biography being featured on a Cal State San Marcos website.
Its California. You have to leave the state before you can tell us how they do it there. Even SD seems to have brain damage.
It didn't work very well when Europe tried to advise Ohioans how to vote. Hopefully the 50th Congressional district will be ad clear headed.
As far as I'm concerned progressive=communist.
Busby shouldn't win but it depends on who gets the GOP nomination. If it's Bilbray, it could be close. If it's Kaloogian, he'll probably be seen/painted as a kook.
Those who refuse to support and defend a state have no claim to protection by that state.
Killing an anarchist or a pacifist should not be defined as "murder" in a legalistic sense.
The offense against the state, if any, should be "Using deadly weapons inside city limits," or "Creating a traffic hazard," or "Endangering bystanders," or other misdemeanor.

Kaloogian has done so much good for this town, you're right...they'll have to label him a kook to down play his being such a strong candidate.
We're starting to get the message of how important this race truly is. If Busby gets 51% of the vote, she'll run as the incumbent in the next election--which happens quite soon after this one.
SD has a huge precinct walking operation -- neighbors talking to neighbors, though. The Dems can't HIRE that kind of personal connection from neighborhood volunteers.
Each person has their share of stupid stuff.
I've heard Eric Roach and he seems honest and hardworking. I've also heard Victor Ramirez. He has my respect, too. Those are really my top three.
I don't know. They are all so busy going to a million luncheons, speaking at so many places. I guess you have to hold your people capable, and it's all how you handle the matter AFTER it happens. He took full responsibility for it.
I love MN, it's just too cold to live there. I need palm trees... ;-)
I hope so prairiebreeze. If Busby gets 51% she runs in the next election as the incumbent!
Palm trees can be had in small doses, though... I still need the job.
