But gays have been flooding into that town for years, converting everything into lofts.

We hear that gentrification is "bad" for communities but Christie Hynde (of the Pretenders) cited what you state as a "good thing" about homosexuals and their personal wealth (an Austin Chronicle interview from a daily edition in March 2006).

Hey, I can't argue: Gentrification is fantastic from a macroscopic point of view. Things look great to the eye: Nicely manicured flower beds, new paint everywhere, spiffed up facades, etc. But from a microbial point of view... Let's just say whenever I go over there I carry a big jug of Purell and wear white gloves so I don't have to touch any doorknobs, lol!

But... seriously speaking, what's it do to the moral fiber of a community to see fags strolling hand-in-hand everywhere with the seats cut out of their tight leather pants? Kids cannot observe even a temporary local acceptance of such behavior and grow up to be morally sound adults.

I know I'm preaching to the choir... But I'm just making the point! :-)
