A sensible step on immigration [Brownback Hailed]
Kansas City Star ^ | Mar 30, 2006 | Editorial

America has reached a tipping point on the topic of immigration.

The country can maintain the status quo — an unattractive option — or it can seriously address the matter of some 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States today. It needs a good conversation on what role the undocumented individuals have or can play in American society. The immigration reform legislation endorsed by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday is a positive start to the conversation. And unlike legislation passed by the House earlier this year or a bill supported by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, it would offer the best solutions to the immigrant issue.

Sen. Sam Brownback, a Kansas Republican who voted for the Judiciary Committee bill, has seen the changes in his state. He recognizes the need for change. As he told The New York Times, “This is also about the hallmark of a compassionate society, what you do with the widows, the orphans and the foreigners among you.”

Brownback is one of the biggest open borders Republicans in the Senate. He is among those pushing amnesty lite, which is amnesty, but you don't call it that.

Brownback is one of the biggest open borders Republicans in the Senate.

Which is why his campaign is DOA in Iowa.

Reading what Brownback had to say certainly didn't make me think a solution has been found. Looks to me like it's going to be up to the people to take back America. Our politicians certainly don't seem capable of doing it!

Brownback is bought and paid for by Archer Daniels Midland, as are most farm-state Republicans. Throw in the other meat-packer/ag interest lobbyists and Brownback's support for illegal aliens over his American constituents is totally predictable.

Well, he... like many other Republicans... saw those images out of LA and they sh_tted their collective pants. What makes Brownback's cowardice so odious is that he is/was a conserrrrrrvative.

Brownback is a puppet for his state's meatpacking industry.

Congress critters should be more concerned with the 200 million voters who want the illegals out rather than the 'feeling' of a few that the job would be too hard.

Unfortunately, the House bill and the Judiciary legislation are so dissimilar it may be impossible to reconcile them.

At least the article had a little of somewhat good news.

If the Republicans in Congress pass this insane guest worker/amnesty bill, they will have relegated the GOP to minority status or worse for the next 25 years.

I've already mailed back my RNC membership to the White House in anticipation that GWB will continue to push this same ol' same ol' reward-for-illegals legislation.

The only option I can accept is to Build The Fence, thereby stopping or at least drastically slowing the flood of illegals into the US.

After that, give all illegals one year in which to return to their country of origin to apply for legal entry into the US.

If they fail to do so, a vastly bulked up immigration department must then bring criminal trespassing charges.

Yes, it might take 10-20 years to identify and catch all the illegals currently in America, so LET's GET STARTED.

At the very least, the daily flow of illegals will stop, thereby allowing capitalism market forces to once again be practiced in the US labor market.

Oh, and anyone who opposes such measures should be voted out of office, either in primary elections or general elections.

A third party might be necessary, unfortunately.

"It needs a good conversation on what role the undocumented individuals have or can play in American society."

Build a secure border barrier - one that is extremely difficult to cross. Then we begin deporting illegal aliens in a disproportionate number to those stealing their way in and make it nearly impossible to survive in the US as an illegal alien, making them deport themselves.

The only "AMNESTY" they ought be given is a one-time, one-way, US-to-Whereever pass. If there begins the additional means to confiscate their possessions much like is done to drug dealers' assets, it won't be long the number of illegal aliens diminish to a more tolerable level.

Logistics say we simply can't deport them all by using the courts. It's simply impossible. If we tried and were successful at the deportations of 100,000 a year, it'd take over 100 years to "recover" America from the foreign conquest.

Question is, do those lawmakers of DC allow us to start now or do they let the erosion of America continue?

There are plenty of pro-legal immigration events.., one of the best is the Texas Minutemen border watch operation for the entire month of April. Come for a weekend, a week or the month. Check out the Texas Minutemen website for info.

Other List of anti-illegals events.
