Nope... A 22 is quite and effective. A larger caliber is over kill and the report draws attention.

.22 LR is one of the best... light, easily concealed, very accurate for greater distances, penetrates body armor, higher capacity magazines, does a lot of internal damage deflecting around inside the body, cheap, disposable, relatively quiet, etc., etc...
