Even at the going rate of about $10 hr. they can't even get enough migrant workers to do it.
There's a sub shop near where I live, looking for employees, starting out at $12 an hour. A sub shop!
That's odd. 20-30 million of these "workers" in the country and not enough of them to pull it off? Just how many pickers do we need to import?

Ever wonder how crops get harvested in countries without mass immigration, like Australia or Japan? Farmers there have automated. As will American farmers, once they can no longer rely on illegals.
What are you supposed to do in our capitalist economy when you find that you can't buy as much of something as you want at the rate you're offering? Lie? Steal? Break the law? How about adjusting the amount you're offering?
