What's missing is that a lot of posters have just STOPPED posting because they're sick of the bickering, which, of course, is exactly what some people around here want -- not to be contradicted.

Notice that NOTHING is sealed in cement? People are projecting their worst fears. You caught on early --- the game is divide and conquer --- sit back and see what happens, but in the interim, write to your senators, congressperson and make phone calls.
