Is the law being ignored ? Yes.
Whose responsibility is that ultimately ? Whose responsibility is it to see that the agencies of federal power do their jobs ? And who has always insisted that a 'guest worker' program must precede any meaningful enforcement ?
Try as you might the truth is obvious.

The immigration problem just didn't start in the past couple years. Where were the politicians 20 years ago? IIRC, Reagan signed an amnesty bill. Tt's an out of control problem, and laying blame on one person is unreasonable. No one is laying blame on Clinton for getting us into the wot mess. Yet, he could have started 15 years ago, and start sealing the borders, but, no, he had to cut the military, and Bush has had to rebuild that after we were attacked on 9-11. What about McCain, hasn't he been a senator from a border state? or feinstein or boxer? Why aren't the PEOPLE held accountable when they continue to vote these bozos in office? Our hold on the leglislatve branch is by a thread. Let's just give that to the dems as well. Anything meaningful Bush proposes to support immigration will be met by the dems, they'll spin it in their usual manner. Southhack posted a lot of good factual information on this thread as to meaningful things being accomplished by our federal gov wrt to the borders, which is ignored.
