Here we go again ... how long until "xenophobe," "fringe nativist" and "white trash" are trotted out again? Have you seen the polling on this? Way to go with all the slurs, during CAFTA, the Miers debacle, the ports mess and now that-which-we-shan't-call-amnesty.AWith nary a word to the racist BS that is the norm in Mexico.

Is that the one where I called you an asshat troll? I'm not sure. I was too upset with you interfering with my consecutive string of abuse reports.

Well, it's a grant, not a fee. It's designed to reimburse workers for the cost of finding a place to live, traveling, getting a used car, etc.
But, it primarily acts as an incentive to "self-deport," something that I don't think can be realistically done by other means.
Isn't the Senate proposing allowing illegal aliens to apply from here in the U.S., though. I think that's a problem. In addition to being unpalatable to most Americans who don't think people should be rewarded for illegal activity, it is also unjust in that it puts those people first in line, in front of people who may well want to come here, but have not at least in part, because they have respect for the law.
Making them go home first gives those law-abiding people a (slight) leg up for applying for guest worker status, as they're already in their home country. I think that's more fair.

Well, if that's the barometer, then I suppose McCain already has a head-start.

primping for the next sound-bit on the evening news.Yes, if only we could focus on more substantive areas of conversation... like "Bushbot" or "terrorist lovers!"
