I don't have any problem with the Senate's 11 years for an illegal to make their way through the system and become legal. BUT I DO have a problem with making it longer for genuine immigrants, such as spouses or other family members. Spouses ARE on a fast track. It takes 4 years to get a fiancee visa to Resident Green Card. If she has been permanently resident, it takes another 1.5 years to become citizens. If you are NOT a spouse, it's 4 + about 3 more (permanent residency for 5 years) plus the application time.
Marriage is a hard issue too after all the Russian brides came over. The people who abuse the system are hassling those who are honest.
