For later. I'll use this when Dane says something stupid yet again about how illegals aren't depressing the US labor market.

Don't ever ask this guy to come up with data to back up his statements.

I'm sure the data he presents could support my assertion that illegal immigration is the flip side of the globalist free trade coin.

Gee Lurker, you could at least ping me if you are going to mention me. I must be making my points if I get mentioned all the time.
As for this long statitiscal gobbleygook, anyone can make loads of ststistics and charts and still don't mean a thin.
I'll go by what is actually going on. A poster stated that illegals are taking away "summer jobs" from American college kids, which wasn't true.
Amusement Parks and resorts are actually importing college kids from other countries becuase there are not enough American college kids to fill the jobs.
Paramounts Kings Island amusement park in Cincinnati, struggling to cope with a tri-state labor shortage, hired up to 300 European college students to staff its peak summer months. Another 200 workers were imported from other US cities. To accommodate its new recruits, the amusement park leased a University of Cincinnati dormitory and signed a $150,000 contract with Metro to provide expanded bus service to the park. Park officials say, Were going to have to be more creative in finding workers. Importing foreign workers may seem novel in Cincinnati but it is a common practice in the amusement park industry. Im aware of a half-dozen or so facilities across the United States that have brought in foreign employees and put them up in a dorm room or hotel rooms, said Joel Cliff, a spokesman for the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions. The biggest problem facing the amusement industry in the next decade is the shrinking labor force among high school and college-age students. Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky OH has on-site dormitories that can accommodate up to 3000 workers. Casino Pier and Water Park in Seaside Heights NJ has hired students from Ireland since the 1980s. And Paramounts Kings Dominion, a sister park to Kings Island, housed 250 Europeans in dorms at Virginia Commonwealth University. Not only is this a problem in the United States, its a problem in England and France; they are hiring employees from other countries too

The solution is easy and Congress is working on it. It's called Amnesty. Then there will be no more illegals taking American jobs because we will just declare them all to be American citizens or on the path to citizenship, so that argument is refuted. All your charts and statistics are a useless waste of time in the face of a simple new Law.

I just got back from Disney World. You know what? They hire foreign kids to work all over the park.
The only difference is, DW does it legally.

I have a solution! Any American that needs work should come to South Mississippi. We have 75% of our businesses begging for workers. "HELP WANTED, ALL POSITIONS" signs abound everywhere one looks... and I mean everywhere.
We are flooded with illegal immigrants working in the recovery, and we still don't have enough Americans willing to get off Disaster Unemployment and FEMA Grants to go to work! HELP WANTED in SOUTH MISSISSIPPI... APPLY INSIDE!

Sorry dude. If you can't get a job in this economy and you're not blind - over 60 - or similiarly physically limited - the most likely reason is that it's your own damn fault not that someone took your job.
The only except to that is for people who have lost jobs that were EXPORTED overseas - primarily to Asia. Again nothing to do with illegal immigration.
Those guys can say someone took their job.

BTW, even though this maybe anecdotal, to me it shows the situation we are in.
Brit Hume reported that jesse jackson had a bus tour of cities to pick up Katrina evacuees to get them to come back to New Orleans to take jobs to rebuild and with many of those jobs starting at $20 an hour. In St. Louis he picked up 3 people, 2 of them spoke Spanish.

The job competition is resulting in lowering the wage scale for entry level jobs, lower pay scale jobs, and all services where the latinos have established their businesses. A glut of services and workers must be the bain of the unions. This could be the straw that breaks the camels back and finally puts the autoworkers unions out of business. The net result will be better cars for a better price.

Farmer Joe already has that option. He simply chooses not to excersize it. In lots of cases Farmer Joe just hires some body who illegally crossed our border for a few bucks an hour, no benefits, and no taxes paid.
Farmer Joes who do that are crooks who should be prosecuted and fined very heavily. As I said on another thread $5,000.00 per illegal per day sounds about right to me.

U and the Christmas goose, have much in common. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, that you have spoken in ignorance rather than trying to be a deceiver when you know the difference. Businesses are recruiting foreigners for summer work that used to be done by our college kids, Because they don't have to pay them as much, and they don't have to pay taxes for them. It is economics 101. To quote a Bulgarian guest hiree, I can live like king for year after I work here. He works at a business that used to recruit on US College campi, but for economic reasons, no longer does.

What the heck are you talking about. These jobs go begging every summer and they are giving benefits such as subsidized housing, and yet American college kids aren't lining up for them, because there are other opportunities out there and also some college kids would rather play with their X-box all summer rather than work.
Thems the facts.
